an Executive Round Table
with Fred Pidsadny and Richard Gerofsky

Monday, February 9, 2015
5:30 - 8:00 PM

Many senior managers believe that having first-rate strategic plans is the key to bolstering a company’s growth, gaining the competitive edge, or to increasing share holder value. If that’s true, why do so many brilliant strategies fail to achieve the intended results?

Harvard Business Review reported that a study of 1000 organizations by Neilson, Martin and Powers indicated that 60 percent of those companies rated themselves poor at strategy execution. In his book “The 8th Habit”, Steven Covey explains that only 22 percent of employees have a clear “line of sight” between their goals and the organization’s goals and much fewer are highly energized and committed. So what’s missing from many organizations’ strategy execution?

It’s this: clarity on the actions and decisions for which the individual is accountable. Also missing is alignment of strategic priorities both vertically and horizontally and commitment through employee involvement in the strategic alignment process itself.

How do we connect strategy to individual and functional accountability to overcome these key obstacles?

This Executive Round Table will draw upon concrete examples from the leaders' own experience to deliver the practical know-how needed to make those connections leading to great execution and strategic success.

Richard’s client experience extends into many sectors.  He worked with the management team of one of Canada’s most innovative mortgage lending operations, transforming the organization and taking it from “also ran” to contender for the top spot in the country.  When a leading office furniture manufacturer needed re-energizing and re-focusing, he worked with them to revolutionize the way they conduct business, dramatically improving their responsiveness and agility, speeding time-to-market for new products and dramatically improving productivity in keys areas of the business.  For an industrial services business facing a daunting strategic challenge, he injected a relentless focus on execution without which they faced an uncertain future.
