Many senior managers believe that having first-rate strategic plans is the key to bolstering a company’s growth, gaining the competitive edge, or to increasing share holder value. If that’s true, why do so many brilliant strategies fail to achieve the intended results?


Harvard Business Review reported that a study of 1000 organizations by Neilson, Martin and Powers indicated that 60 percent of those companies rated themselves poor at strategy execution. In his book “The 8th Habit”, Steven Covey explains that only 22 percent of employees have a clear “line of sight” between their goals and the organization’s goals and much fewer are highly energized and committed. So what’s missing from many organizations’ strategy execution?


It’s this: clarity on the actions and decisions for which the individual is accountable. Also missing is alignment of strategic priorities both vertically and horizontally and commitment through employee involvement in the strategic alignment process itself.


How do we connect strategy to individual and functional accountability to overcome these key obstacles?


This Executive Round Table will draw upon concrete examples from the leaders' own experience to deliver the practical know-how needed to make those connections leading to great execution and strategic success.

He is a seasoned leader having spent the formative part of his career in senior Industrial Engineering, Organizational Development and Human Resources management positions within internationally based companies.

Recognized for his practical approach, Fred has worked at all levels within client organizations, engaging members in clarifying and establishing clear sight lines between their work and the long-term direction of the business. This has translated into both tangible and intangible business results for his clients including measurable sales growth, improved customer/member satisfaction, increased capacity, new capabilities and of course better bottom-line results with significant returns, some have set industry records. The softer benefits include; increased confidence to get what really matters done, improved teamwork and productivity, re-awakened passions, re-focused energies, and reduced stress levels.

As a Leader's facilitator, Fred’s experience includes both the private and public sectors, both profit and not-for-profit. His for-profit clients include manufacturing, food, insurance, legal, logistics/trucking; distribution, retail, consumer goods, telecom and construction.

His not-for-profit sector experience includes Local Governments, Boards of Education, Libraries, Fire Service, Utilities, Long-term Health Care, Associations and Boards of Trade/Chambers of Commerce.

Assignments have taken Fred across Canada, the United States and into Mexico.

Fred is proudly Canadian, happily married, with three children and four grandchildren. He lives in the Niagara Peninsula.
