Augustin Manchon is a global expert in pricing. He is a passionate architect of innovative growth, a relentless builder of sustainable capabilities, a strategic technology enabler and the personal coach of several CEOs, CMOs and CFOs in both Canada and the USA.He brings breakthrough thinking, innovative solutions, entrepreneurial courage and solid bottom line results to every project. His extensive, international analytical and mathematical education, is rounded by extensive global experience with Fortune 500 organizations in six countries on three continents. His leadership performance includes partnership positions at world class consulting firms including  Deloitte, Accenture and Simon-Kucher & PartnersAugustin holds an MBA from HEC-Paris, ESADE-Barcelona and Stern-New York University and a BS in Mathematiques. He holds the second highest examination score of the Certified Management Consultant Institute of Canada.



Len Nanjad, Past President



Len Nanjad has been a passionate member of the SLF since 2004 and held several volunteer positions including Chair, Human Capital Council, and VP Programming.Len is a business change consultant focusing on improving operational performance by leading the development and implementation of organizational and people-driven strategies. He has over twelve years’ experience serving as a consultant to Canada’s largest and best-known companies in the area of Organizational Change Strategy. He has developed a distinguished career with firms such as Deloitte, IBM, and Accenture as well as Loblaw Companies Ltd. Len holds an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business, BA in Economics and Psychology from the University of Western Ontario, a Master of Human Capital Strategy designation from the Human Capital Institute, and is a Certified Management Consultant.

Thom Zaugg

Thom Zaugg's passion is helping companies grow their business from the inside out.  He works as a consultant helping companies grow their core business.


Thom was Managing Director of Diebold Canada for 8 years from 2003 and responsible for all of Canadian operations.  Thom led the company in delivering highly secure and exceptional uptime of self-service banking for three of Canada’s largest financial institutions and half of the Canadian Credit Unions, as well as security systems for Canada’s largest office complexes, bridges, and art galleries.  Under his leadership the Canadian operations grew more than three fold by winning long-term contracts with a value of a half billion dollars.  


Thom was a member of three Boards including Diebold Canada.  Thom also served as a Board Member for the Strategic Leadership Forum, the Canadian Society of Chemical Engineering and political associations at the National and Provincial level in Alberta and Ontario.  He was a guest lecturer at the College of Petroleum and Energy Studies, in Oxford England for several years.

Prior to Diebold, Thom was Senior Director at Petro-Canada responsible for Marketing, Development and R&D.  Thom successfully established Petro-Canada as the largest specialty oil supplier in the world by upgrading a refinery built to supply fuel for Lancaster bombers of WWII.  He held various Senior Management and Strategic Planning roles at Gulf Oil in the Specialty Products and Chemicals Businesses.Thom is a Professional Engineer with a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Alberta. He has a certificate of Executive Leadership from the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University.


 Miklos Tomka - VP Programming

Miklos Tomka is a successful general manager and strategy expert with global experience in a number of industries, ranging from Healthcare to High Tech. His passion is helping companies,  as a Senior Executive or as a leadership team adviser, in achieving their full potential.

Miklos is A VP of Strategy and Sales at InfoTrellis. He is currently  working with companies and strategic partners in helping them  benefit from  the innovation  Big Data insights (from Social Media to Customer Interactions) can provide. Before joining InfoTrellis in January 2013, Miklos worked for 2 years as AVP Strategy on the turnaround at Sears Canada.

Miklos earned his MBA at INSEAD in France and has acquired his strategic skills as a consultant at Bain and Company and as co-leader of the strategy practice at Cap Gemini Ernst and Young. Quadrilingual, he has worked and lived in Hungary, Germany, France, and United Kingdom.Miklos has many hobbies but he is most passionate about spending the time with his two young children.





Don Evans - VP Finance (Executive Board)



Don Evans continues serving on the SLF Board as VP Finance. Prior to this he served as Chair of the SLF Book Group for two seasons.

Don is VP, Finance & Administration at Culliton Brothers Limited in Stratford. And before that, he spent many years with DuPont Canada. Don has 20 years of broad-based business experience including sales, marketing, finance, distribution, and quality management.He holds a BSc in Agriculture from the University of Manitoba and an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business. He is also a Certified General Accountant (CGA), an active Toastmaster and an energetic volunteer in his community.Don Evans continues serving on the SLF Board as VP Finance. Prior to this he served as Chair of the SLF Book Group for two seasons.





Anu Parmar - Past Co-President (Executive Board)


Anu Parmar


Anu Parmar first joined SLF in 2005 and subsequently served as Chair, Marketing Council for 2 terms from 2007 – 2009. She led events bringing together executives and business professionals from diverse sectors to debate, discuss and exchange insights on issues of strategy and marketing. In 2010 she was co-VP Strategy & Marketing and then served at Co-President through 2011-2012. Anu is founder and president of SCA Strategies Inc. a firm that specializes in consulting and interim management services in the areas of strategic marketing, sales effectiveness and management training. She has held progressive management positions in the areas sales and marketing at Canon. Prior to that Anu held sales and operations positions with Security Information Systems and Royal Marine Insurance (UK). She works with clients in broad industry sectors: consumer goods, retail, automotive, wireless technology, manufacturing, education and non-profit organizations. Anu also serves on the board of community not-for-profit organizations leading them to record revenue and raising their profile both in Canada, US and abroad

Anela Nikic - Past Co-President (Executive Board)




Anela Nikic - Her ability to lead teams from vision, through strategy to execution with high integrity and an entrepreneurial spirit had been the hallmark of Anela’s career’s As part of the SLF Marketing Council in 2009, Anela co-chaired “The COLISEUM”, a dynamic entrepreneurial business competition modeled on CBC-TV’s Dragons’ Den.  She has most recently served as Co-President 2011-2012 where she brought her experience in strategy, marketing and the “operationalization of innovation” to SLF. A results-oriented business leader, Ms. Nikic is presently Sr. Director of Strategy with Loblaw Companies Limited in support of Brands, Marketing and Drugstore (health, beauty & pharmacy).  Previously, she held a number of progressively senior roles in the areas of: Strategy and Marketing, Product Development, Operations/Asset Management, IT, Finance and Change Management with Canadian Pacific, a $5 Billion organization delivering Logistics and Supply Chain Solutions across North America. Ms. Nikic holds an Honours BA degree in Economics from the University of Western Ontario.


Jerry Adel,Chair, Editorial Committee and Book Group ( Executive Board)





Jerry Adel is a long time member and active volunteer of the Strategic Leadership Forum. He has worked on event-organizing committees such as the Knowledge Café and the "How to Strategic Plan" workshops and has written a wine column for the SLF newsletter. He is currently a Board member a Chair of the Editorial Committee and he also co-hosts the Book Group. Jerry has been operating his own management consulting firm since 1982 providing Transformational Consulting in the areas of Strategic Management, Human Resources and Business Process Optimization to a wide range of clients in diversified industries.  He is also a member and co-founder of TEC (The Executive Committee) Associates Roundtable T922, an international peer-to-peer networking group for C.E.O.s, as well as a past member of Independent Advisory Boards for an electrical products manufacturer and an applications software provider. He is a member of the faculty of the Canadian Management Centre (CMC) and is President and Chair of the Board of Directors of Bayview Community Services, an organization concerned with helping people who are recovering from severe mental health issues to live their best life in their community.



Carli Kinnear, Chair, Organization Performance Council




 Carli Kinnear has successfully contributed as a consulting leader in three of the largest business consulting organizations in the world being, AccenturePriceWaterhouseCoopers and most recently at IBM as a as Partner in IBM’s Strategy and Transformation Consulting Group. Trained in Project and Program Leadership, she has worked globally and has engaged with leaders at all levels of business.Carli holds an MA from the University of Johannesburg, a diploma in Business Management from Henley Management College (UK) as well as certification in Advanced Organization Change Strategy from Harvard Business School.

  Malcolm Bernstein, Chair, Social Sector Council



Malcolm Bernstein has extensive consulting and industry experience, including executive positions in Human Resources, Information Technology, and Sales and Marketing, and a partnership in a national human capital consulting firm. Malcolm’s consulting has been in the public and private sectors in Canada and internationally, involving facilitation of strategy with boards and executive teams, organizational and executive team development, leadership development, and coaching.Malcolm has an MBA from the Ivey School of Business, a BA in Economics from McGill University, and the Certified Management Consulting designation. He is functionally bilingual. He has served in a voluntary capacity with the Strategic Leadership Forum, Baycrest Centre for Geriatric Care, Wellspring Cancer Support Centres, Hospice Thornhill, and Starlight Foundation.Malcolm prides himself in building trusted relationships, striving for excellence, and operating with utmost integrity. He is committed to enhancing the effectiveness and success of organizations and individuals, and helping them fill their potential.
